First post here...

In 2 days time, I would be flying to Japan from Singapore (transit via Shanghai!). This would be my second overseas trip... SOLO! Not that I like being alone, but it's not exactly easy to find a partner for the type of trip I would be making...

3 years back, when I was 19, I made a solo cycling trip through Korea, from Busan to Seoul. It was the last crazy idea of my teenage life. If so... this trip through Japan would be the first crazy idea of my adult life!

Let's recall, 1 day while watching a J-drama, I suddenly feel the urge to visit Japan... The exchange rate then was a pleasurable S$1.4 to 100yen. The whole trip would be pretty expensive, but still afforable. So I went down to Misa travel and brought a ticket through Yatie (who by the way, is the same person who sold me my ticket to Korea...). I choose to land in Okayama (becoz... from photos of the airport... It looks really small and cute! I like small airports...) and return to Singapore via Tokyo, Narita airport...

After a few days of planning... Using Wikitravel and Google Earth, I finalized my schedule which would bring me from Okayama, a small town to Tokyo in 12 days, spending 2 days in Osaka...

And then the economic crisis strikes! Yen flew up! (The highest was a staggering S$1.7 to 100yen...) Which means my afforable trip is now slightly less afforable... 2 weeks before departure, Yatie called me to inform my that my flight on the 22nd, 0055hrs is cancelled and will be replaced by a flight the next day... 0055hrs. This screwed up my schedule nicely. I couldn't spend a single day in Okayama, instead I would have to take a train ride up to Himeji (Which hotel I have already booked!).

Which brings me back to the purpose of this trip... To cycle in Japan! Yup... And I do hope to fulfill it... It would be abandoned however if... there is something seriously wrong with my bicycle when I assembly it in Himeji...

And why am I still awake at this hour? Firstly, a girl made me feel confused and lost... Not sure what to do wor... Secondly... Singapore vs. Vietnam at Kallang in 16 hours time! It's gonna be fun... And lastly... because I will be departing for Japan soon... And it's really getting me excited... Or scared... But mostly excited... cause fear usually only set in when I sit in the departure hall... (oh yeah! I cried in the departure hall when I was going to Korea... Lol...)

Even before I flew off... Rocks are already flying my way... But I have always been the type of guy who picks up the rocks and throw them back... Whether this trip is a success or not, is all dependant on me... (Well... cycling up a steep slope is easier then to understand a woman's heart! At least that's my case...) As things goes along... I would update this blog with photos... short comments... long comments... or I would not update it for a few days... (It all depends on if I could get free internet... And what type of internet connection I get...)
